An Evening of Heinz Erhardt with Andreas Neumann

Sun, Jan 26, 2025, 18:00
Laeiszhalle, Kleiner Saal (Hamburg)
Andreas Neumann (Comedian)
Parodist Andreas Neumann is a master at bringing popular comedians, humourists and film stars of the economic miracle years back to life. The press describes him as »the best Heinz Erhardt since Heinz Erhardt« and even Grit Berthold, daughter of Heinz Erhardt, acknowledges, »When I heard Andreas Neumann, I thought my father was alive again.« In addition to Heinz Erhardt, Neumann parodies other personalities such as Heinz Rühmann, Theo Lingen and Marcel Reich-Ranicki. Neumann fans also get their money’s worth: because the programme always includes newly written texts. Extensive laughter is virtually guaranteed for everyone!

Johann König

Fri, Jan 31, 2025, 20:00
Laeiszhalle, Großer Saal (Hamburg)
Johann König
Johann König was never really drawn to the stage. He wanted to be a teacher. A sports teacher for biology and general studies. But this plan didn’t work out. After 19 semesters at university, the audience, with their affection and money, forced him to devote himself entirely to humour. This led König straight onto the slippery slope of cultivated evening entertainment, from which there is no turning back. And today? Today he laughs about it – just as the audience laughs about him.

Der Herr der Ringe & der Hobbit – The concert

Sun, Feb 2, 2025, 19:00
Laeiszhalle, Großer Saal (Hamburg)
Cinema Festival Symphonics, Stephen Ellery (Conductor)
Peter Jackson’s world-famous film celebrates its 20th anniversary! The music of the hobbits and orcs comes to the concert hall stage in an impressive concert experience with soloists, choir and orchestra. The menacing sounds of Mordor and the Black Riders, the beautiful lyrical melodies of the Elves – the renowned Cinema Festival Symphonics transform reality into a musical setting of Middle-earth. Howard Shore composed much of the music for the film trilogies »The Lord of the Rings« and »The Hobbit« and received the Oscar, Grammys and the Golden Globe for it. His motifs are elementally touching when the ring unfolds its power and corrupts the bearer of all power: a parable with great contemporary relevance. Accompanied by violins, trumpets and timpani, the ensemble, soloists and choir whisk the audience away to the Shire, through the landscape of Rohan and up to Mount Doom. The melodic tones of flutes and violins are supported by green landscapes and gloomy scenarios on the screen in the background. Animations specially developed for the production add an extra dimension to this symphonic event. »The last Goodbye« and »Far over the Misty Mountains cold« are performed by soloists with powerful voices who add a personal touch to the well-known songs. »The Lord of the Rings & The Hobbit – The Concert« is a fantastic evening of a very special kind. Full of sound, full of atmosphere, unique! With state-of-the-art technology, the Cinema Festival Symphonics will take Middle-earth fans and fantasy lovers on a musical journey through all of The Lord of the Rings & The Hobbit films. The impressive light and screen animations flow harmoniously with the legendary melodies and enhance the atmosphere of each individual song. The ensemble celebrates a unique sound that fully immerses the audience in the world of fantasy and provides many goosebump moments!

Cinema Festival Symphonics, Chor der Milano Festival Opera (Choir), Marc Breitfelders (Harmonica), Stephen Ellery (Conductor)
He received his last Oscar in February 2016 for Tarantino’s »The Hateful 8«. Morricone made himself immortal almost 50 years ago with his music for »The Song of Death«. His compositions for the Italo-Western classic »Two Glorious Scoundrels«, Roland Joffé’s drama »Mission« and Giuseppe Tornatore’s film »Cinema Paradiso« became particularly well known. His fans can experience Morricone’s unforgettable works live in selected cities. Star guest Marc Breitfelder is one of the best harmonica players in the world. The large ensemble of soloists, orchestra and choir of the Milano Festival Opera will also be on stage to bring Morricone’s captivating music to life. The great Verdi Gala

Tue, Feb 11, 2025, 20:00
Laeiszhalle, Großer Saal (Hamburg)
Chor der Milano Festival Opera, Orchester der Milano Festival Opera (Orchestra), Cristian Lanza (Tenor), Giulio Boschetti (Bariton), Silvia Rampazzo (Soprano), Monika Piechaczek (Soprano), Maja Wielgus (Mezzo-Soprano), Marcin Wolniewski (Conductor)
»Every music has its heaven«, Verdi once said. His music was created under the clear skies of »Bella Italia«. Verdi’s music arouses strong emotions, but always remains genuine and true – and beautiful, as beautiful as the sky over Italy. There is a »very special« hit in many of Verdi’s operas. The world-famous »Prisoners’ Chorus« from Nabucco or »Preghiera di Desdemona« (Ave Maria) or »Ella giammai m’amò«. They are among the most moving pieces that European music has ever produced. NABUCCO, LA TRAVIATA, RIGOLETTO, IL TROVATORE and AIDA are masterpieces from the first to the last bar. With his soft, full timbre, Italy’s star tenor Cristian Lanza, Silvia Rampazzo and baritone Giulio Boschetti as well as the choir and orchestra of the Milano Festival Opera present the very best of Verdi’s magnificent arias, duets and choruses. With great talent and even more feeling, Cristian Lanza knows how to give his voice wings. The Italian tenor, born in Rome, has been one of the greats of the scene for some time now. His grandfather continues to be a source of inspiration for him. Born in Italy, he is the grandson of the world-famous singer Mario Lanza. But he has long since ventured out of his grandfather’s slipstream. Cristian Lanza’s lyric tenor has a softer and fuller timbre than that of his grandfather. He not only has the high notes that are expected in tenor arias, but also enchants and touches his listeners with his soulful voice.

»Weiber«

Wed, Mar 5, 2025, 20:00
Laeiszhalle, Großer Saal (Hamburg)
Martina Flügge (Actor), Sabine Bönecker (Actor), Suzanne Andres (Actor), Anne-Kathrin Fremy (Actor)
After many years, they rock the stage again. Three women who chatter so wildly that hardly a word can be understood: Bärbel, Claudia and Anke! 20 years after their last performance, they have one hour to get fit for the stage again. Moni from their former dance club is celebrating her 50th birthday and the three of them have to step in – an »emergency«. The planned wellness weekend comes to nothing. The lavish selection of spirits is conquered and the rest takes care of itself – totally chaotic! From »Ich bin ganz Pina Colada« with a cocktail shaker to the biting song »Hefe«, which relentlessly gets to the heart of the nasty truth: »There's a piece of yeast in every woman. The little bitch pretends to be asleep. But suddenly the time comes, women be ready, then the yeast rises. That's the course of our lives!« It is not possible to work purposefully on the upcoming performance. It's all down to the men, who may not be on stage, but who are a constant topic of conversation and blasphemy on the phone. Claudia's mobile phone rings every ten minutes. Bärbel has lost her heart to her boss and Anke's husband is struggling with nappies at home. »Weiber« captivates with its self-irony. Three girls in a party mood who poke fun at their own weaknesses in a very endearing way! – Combined with a colourful mix of well-known songs.

In 2024, it already attracted enthusiastic audiences to Hamburg; in 2025, it will cause a sensation in Cologne, Hanover, Hamburg and Lüneburg. The evening’s performers are none other than vocal prodigy Jessy Martens and the virtuoso sounds of Georg Schroeter on the piano, accompanied by Marc Breitfelder’s masterful harmonica, Kalle Reuter’s delicate guitar playing and Martin Röttger’s precise rhythm work. They all share a dedication to music and the ability to touch people of all generations. A special surprise guest takes the evening to a new level and adds an extra dimension to the already impressive line-up. Deep blues that touches the soul and powerful rock that gets the blood pumping characterise this fantastic production. A repertoire that includes hits that have grown over decades – from »Great Balls of Fire« and »Proud Mary« to modern classics. You know it’s going to be an unforgettable evening when the first chords of »Good Morning Blues« fill the room. Real magic is created during »Motherless Child« when Jessy Martens raises her voice. The voluminous, powerful vocals merge into an impressive harmony that goes through the heart and soul and gives you goosebumps. These and other deep, resonating sounds carry the promise of the blues – honest and unadulterated – and give the concert a real bang. The »Hamburg Blues Rock Night« impresses with a masterful production: the selected musicians promise quality, the selection of pieces is a testament to finesse, and the interplay on stage is a revelation. The audience experiences a rare combination of talent and passion, crowned by a musical performance that makes hearts beat faster.

Café del Mundo

Sat, Mar 22, 2025, 20:00
Laeiszhalle, Kleiner Saal (Hamburg)
Jan Pascal (Guitar), Alexander Kilian (Guitar)
Two chairs, two guitars and two microphones – that’s all the two guitarists Jan Pascal and Alexander Kilian need to touch hearts, to enchant, to travel off their chairs and to release a wide range of emotions that transcend all boundaries. Café del Mundo plays a unique sound. From the very first note, their finely tuned guitars radiate that southern joie de vivre that celebrates life and at the same time moves you deeply – that’s what guitar sounds like today! As artistic personalities, the two are opposites: Alexander Kilian is regarded as a guitar prodigy, highly virtuosic, extroverted and award-winning, sometimes dancing across the rows of chairs. Jan Pascal is the poet with depth, meaning and a feel for the melodies of life.
